Ingredients
  

  • 375 g caster sugar
  • 275 g softened butter
  • 75 g cocoa powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100 g dark chocolate chips or cut-up pieces of your favorite chocolate
  • 100 g self-rising flour

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C Fan/Gas 4.
  • Grease and line a 20cm square baking tin.
  • Place the chocolate and butter in a large heatproof bowl.
  • Set the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and stir until melted and smooth.
  • Remove from the heat and add the sugar and eggs.
  • Beat until well combined.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and chocolate chips.
  • Finally, fold in the flour until just combined.
  • Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared tin and bake for about 45 minutes, until well risen and set around the edges, with a slightly soft centre.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the tin before slicing and serving.
