- Rolled oats
- Butter
- Golden syrup or maple syrup/honey
- Brown sugar
- Optional additions chocolate chips, dried fruits, nuts, etc.
Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan/gas 6.
Lightly butter the baking tin and line with baking paper.
Place the oats, butter, sugar, and golden syrup in a large saucepan and melt over a low heat, stirring constantly until well combined.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking tin and spread evenly, pressing down with the back of a spoon to make sure it is compact.
Score the flapjacks into 12 squares with a sharp knife.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Allow the flapjacks to cool completely in the tin before cutting into squares and serving.
